Agriculture at organic farm Villhof

Our work ethic is: “We have borrowed the earth from our children“.

Demeter is the oldest, organically monitored way of cultivation, founded in 1924 by Rudolf Steiner in Koberwitz and is by now widely known (www.demeter.net) .

Having fun with organic cultivation lead us to go organic 25 years ago.

Now we cultivate 6,5 hectars of which 6 are fruit farming and 0,5 are used to grow vegetables. The apple varieties on our farm are Gala, Topaz, Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Brea burn, Red Delicious.

We work the land using our horses, as we find this suits our needs best. It is marvelous to see that also the young generation is working with passion and thus ensuring the farm’s future.
